Route running is one of Beckham's best skills probably. That and high pointing the ball. Not to mention his 4.4 speed. Dude will be a very good NFL WR.

Agreed. I'd be psyched to get him but I don't think he'll be there.

Yep.

It's a common misconception that Landry runs great routes and Beckham doesn't.

In reality, Beckham gets great separation on his routes while Landry does not.

They are both exceptional route runners. Obj just has that burst in and out of his cuts that gets him a little more separation.

That's what being a great route running is about though.

It's not just being precise. Landry struggles to get separation. Beckham is elite.

i agree. Landry a lot of times, gets space by body placement. Boxing out the defender. He isn't a great leaper, but he has great timing, grabbing the ball at its highest point.

Nothing wrong with that, but he's not quite the route runner Beckham is.

But he played at LSU! You can't be a cool trendy ST poster if you support a LSU player. CSP is a idiot if he is considering a Tiger. . .

Because I don't like obj as a first rounder in draft deep at WR and liked ziggy ansah more than Mingo last year?

You think Brandon Cooks is as polished a WR as Beckham?

You are out of your mind.

He's faster. But, not nearly the natural WR Beckham is.

I really hope that the GMs who pick ahead of us are are stupid as you.

Saying you like the explosiveness of Cooks is one thing. Saying you think he's a more natural WR and that he's a more polished WR than Beckham shows you don't know what you are talking about.

Every time an LSU player and the Saints are mentioned you bitch. Since LSU is one of the better schools at putting out NFL talent I find that retarded, but your opinion is your own.

There are plenty of WRs better than him that I would rather take in the 1st.

If he was still there in the 3rd I'd take him but he doesn't scream 1st rounder to me

Beckham has a great combination of speed, character, route running, pedigree, and special teams play maker. He's going to be a great player in this league. Pair him in a productive offense and a hall of fame quarterback... its a great pick.

If we were factoring in all of that I'd rather go with Brandin Cooks. He's pretty much the same as ODB but a bit more of a playmaker.

But I personally prefer Jordan Matthews over any WR other than Mike Evans

Dude gained almost 40 lbs of muscle throughout his college career and got faster. Not to mention kid has the stamina (track) and can run routes all day.

See you are arguing points that don't necessarilky need to be even argued. You can like them both. Chances are extremely good that either ODB or Cooks is going to be gone before the 27th pick. Possibly both. I like Jordan Matthews a lot as well but you're starting to get silly putting him above the rest of the crop buddy.

I think it's natural for LSU fans who are also Saints fans and vice versa to get unhealthy boners when the Saints show interest in LSU players.

I'd be pumped if the Saints picked Beckham, but it would be 95% because I like his skill set a lot and I think he can really help the Saints and 5% because he's LSU. I'd also be pumped if the Saints drafted any of those other stud WR's that didn't go to LSU, too.
