I've said if the best player is a pass rusher, we will take him. If it's a receiver, we will take him. Anything outside of FB, K, and P is on the board in the first round(though with the way HB is going in the league that might be off the board too).
If Mosley, Manziel, Cooks, and Verrett are all there I honestly could not tell you who'd they take because I have no clue how they have them rated.
My point to you is just because we meet with a couple of receivers doesn't mean it's a lock. It just means we are doing our homework to make the most informed decision, and that WR is ONE of the targets in the first.

They have always said that but they always kinda show their hand in the off season as the direction they are leaning if you watch what they do. Look at the people we have signed and resigned.

Look I'm not trying to argue with you.
I might add I always call what position we draft in the first and most of the time the person. Not trying to toot my own horn just stating facts.
Since Payton got here I have mocked the pick correct every year except Bush because I thought the Texans would take him, and Robinson threw me off.

But that doesn't make it a 100% lock. I'd give it maybe 30%, depending on who else is available. Say all the top CBs and LBs are gone, along with no one else rated highly dropping far. That definitely ups the odds dramatically.
But what if Lee, Cooks, and Beckham are gone(along with the top 2 guys)? That would tank the chances of taking a receiver.
It's not just what we do, but also what other teams do. And at 27, that's 26 other teams/players affecting what we ultimately do.
But congrats on your record to this point and congrats again if you get it right this year.

He gets way more separation coming out of his breaks than say Landry does.

He's faster. But, not nearly the natural WR Beckham is.

Hell, maybe teams feel the draft is so deep there that they don't want to use their first round pick on a WR and all 3 fall to us. Who knows.
That's all I'm trying to say. There is just so many variables that I think saying 100% for sure it will be this or won't be that is futile.
