Saw that it's this weekend. I've never been.
What is the crowd like. Is it a decent environment for kids?
Dr. John is playing, so the wife and I want to hit that up. And it's for free, so that's a plus.
Any and all information is good info. TIA.

I went last year. Its pretty good. The crowd was actually really " familyish". In other words, a lot of people there chasing their kids and not listening to the music. There were a handful of food vendors and some overpriced domestic beer. I would bring your own cooler. Overall , if the weather is good, I give it an A for Baton Rouge. I plan on going again.

Wait for it, wait for it, the Baton rouge bashing should start any minute. This is Another positive thing for downtown baton rouge, weather should be good, bike cops etc that work the down town scene do a good job keeping the riff raff in check for the most part. go have a good time

I went to it last year and I've been to many of the free concerts downtown in the past year without a problem. Last week the beers at Fest for All were $3, so not too bad. Also saw that Blues Fest has VIP tickets for a pretty reasonable $50 if you want a private area.

Damn shame BR is doing something nice like a free Blues Fest but no one is going to show up because an hour south east there is a free fest going on that is 9387486 Times better

Always a great time... The Wednesday shows at Phil's was jamming! First year I don't have to work it.
ETA shite... Forgot my nephews birthday party is tomorrow and I won't be able to go.

I went once quite a few years ago and I swore that I'd never go back. If you want to see white trash and people still being hippies, then this is the place to go. You'll see women in halter tops that never shave their bodies. The white trash apparently don't wear deodorant. Those people really gave off an odor. I couldn't grasp how people could eat the food that they bought with the trash and stench that was surrounding them. If it's free, the trash will show up.

We saw some of Black Pistol Fire earlier in the day, and they were really good. I liked walking around the Old State Capitol grounds; I was expecting the main stage to be the town square area. Actually had the most fun when we walked down Third Street and watched a local group on the Roux House patio. It was nice day, as expected.
