Well see in the first game. He has a highly touted online to block for him, and that's just to block for him. I believe he has that extra gear hill doesn't have.

Hill lived up to the hype

I'm not the biggest Les fan in the world, BUT, the guy knows how to handle a stable of running backs. LF will be fine but it will start slow and build toward the big conference games at the end of the year, just like Hill last year.

I don't know how good he will end up being but it sure looks like this coming year sets up perfect for him. We have a pretty good O line coming back. Inexperienced QB's so we will be running the ball alot. He has a couple seniors ahead of him but I think by the 3 game he is at the least the number 2 back and will get plenty of touches. Most important though is that LF looks to be a very good RB with the perfect build for the SEC. He is big but still really quick and fast. I would not be the least bit surprised for him to have 1000 yards rushing next year.

LF will gain over 1000 yards if he stays healthy. magee will get 1000 also. so this year we will flip the script and have 2 1000 yard rushers vs.last year when we had 2 1000 yard receivers.

He's so good he out runs his shadow and it takes a minute for it to catch up! He's so quick he's fast asleep!

we'll find out when he starts playing. No way of telling how he'll do against SEC competition until he actual does it.

I'm optimistic, but I've seen far too many 5-star busts for me to get too excited before he even hits the field.

He will be that good because:

1) OL returning 4 starters and should be one of the nation's best
2) Grimes is better than Stud
3) Neighbors is a good FB that can clear lanes
4) LF is just that good

Of course there will be growing pains, but he's walked into a great situation. He has help with Hilliard and McGee to give him some rest and Williams may get a few snaps. The only downside is our passing game may not keep opponents from loading the box against the run.

We all know he hasn't gained his 1st yd for LSU, but how many RB's have come to LSU at 6-1, 225 lbs, a bench of 300+, a squat of 600 lbs, a 40 speed of 4.35 to 4.5 depending on the report, and the #1 rated player at his position in the nation?

Anyone not feeling pretty damn excited is gotta be on some kinda meds.

Pump the brakes.

What was it, 1990 I think? When we had something like 4 or 5 Five Star RB's in one class?

And none of them did anything.

Remembered a couple names:
Jay Johnson
Robert Toomer

We had the top RB's from LA, MS, AL, TX and GA: David Butler, Artie Moore, Robert Davis, Jay Johnson, and Robert Toomer.
Only Butler and Toomer stayed all 4 years.

Personally, I think there is a tad of difference between getting the top RB out of a state and getting the top RB out of the nation.

Plus, you are talking like 20+ yrs ago. Far more investigation goes into these kid's ability today than ever happened in the early 1990's. imo

Are there guys who don't live up to their ranking out of HS? Sure...hell, even the pro drafters have their clusterfrick ups and those get highlighted, but there are a hell of a lot more times in these days that player evals out of HS or college hit the target than miss it.

Hey, if Nick and other power house programs were on the kids doorstep with offers and he's rated the #1 guy in the nation, I'm gonna be excited and hopeful that he can do some awesome things for LSU football....but each to our own.

I hope you're just a kid.

To answer your question, LF is the real deal.

I saw some stats on ESPN that said on 96 of Hill's 203 carries, there were 8 or more min in the box and Hill averaged 8 yards a carry and 15 TDs. They say that is an Automatic Qualifying best in the nation. So what do you think a talent like Fournette is going to do with that same line and that same fullback? Doesn't matter if he has a good passing game or not, he will dominate with his talent and those blockers.

He's a tail back.

Not a QB, DE or O Lineman.

He may be a special RB, but we all know where football games are won and lost.

I'm sure that's true. I'm simply noting the only obstacles to him being great right out of the gate. The nice thing is that if teams load the box and he gets to the the level of the safeties, he's gone.

As many question marks as there are with youth and inexperience, I'm still pumped to watch this season unfold.
