Been there. I owned my own business in La, made a good living and had a lot of freedom but couldn't fight the desire to shake things up and go West. Definitely don't regret it. I value experiences over material things, not a lot of folks like that though.

That's a pretty big move man. Much respect. I'd be lying if I said the thought hadn't crossed my mind. I have a really small family though and I'm really close with them, so I always talk myself out of it.

What's weird, when I moved the dam broke and most of my family moved elsewhere. The internet keeps me close enough. My younger brother moved to Washington after I moved to Ak, and loves it. Said he'd never have left if I hadn't first.

Resourceful people will find a way to make a living.

Your GPA means nothing if you don't win. Clients want a winner. I can't help but smile when opposing counsel objects to every question I ask. Sure, he's making his client feel like he's getting his money's worth, but he's pissing off the judge, chancellor, or jury. And that's never a good thing.

Be smart, but know how people are. The richest lawyers aren't the ones who know the most law. The richest lawyers are the ones who know how to sell themselves.

He came up to see me before he did. He was on the fence. I told him if he didn't, he'd regret it later. If he didn't like it, the road went both ways. He's loved it. He was still apprehensive on the move though. Called me every two hundred miles or so. It's worked out well for him

So so lately. Been having it rough and hope they have some answers today. Depression is setting in even more. Some days I pray to God he would just end it.
