The spacer I'm talking about is number 52 on that diagram. It's also easy to reverse number 52 and 53 on there.

Yes, it is easy to get those two backwards as the gun comes in the box reversed with the spacer valve on top of that spring.
Did you check to make sure the gas port on the barrel is not plugged up with something? I have one of these and it shoots everything dirty or not. Good gun , good luck.
