That's fricking disgusting and makes me never want to try that restaurant if they serve that to a paying customer.

Back when soft-shell crawfish were in vogue, I had a poboy with that on it. It was awesome.

...and that's why Off The Hook was far above the rest.

I may do something again one day. I was thinking about starting a little business to cook at festivals in NO or maybe even a food truck business. I've developed my cooking some since Off the Hook and I still enjoy cooking a lot. First I need some startup money and/or investors.

I had a feeling that question would arise. It was fifteen minutes before closing when I ordered it to go. I've been in the food industry long enough to know that anything ordered just before closing may not be as good as mid shift, however, this was absolutely nasty and unacceptable. I never had a chance to let management know since I took the first two bites after closing time. Not sure if it's worth the hour drive tomorrow to discuss the issue to barter for my ten bucks that I gave them for crap food. It is what it is.
Just my two cents -
If this restaurant is recommended and reputable by many people, then you may want to at least email it to them. Not just to get money back, but if they have potential to be a good restaurant, give them feedback to help them improve.

I agree also.
In the past, I've had cooks screw up food on purpose because they were pissed off someone came in late. I'm glad the customer let me know about it and I ended up getting rid of the employee. This probably isn't the case with this issue but it could be something the owner can correct in the future.

Thanks to those of you who mentioned that it would be a good idea to let a responsible and reputable business know if something is horribly amiss. I fully agree with you, which is why I took the time to bring it to their attention today. After a handful of you chimed in saying how gawd awful it looked, I knew it wasn't just me.
I hate hate hate calling a restaurant out on bad food. It's very uncomfortable for me, almost like insulting someone in their own house and the fear of being confused with people who are simply complainers, but those of us who have been in the business are compelled to let them know, hoping that they actually care enough to right the situation, not so much for a refund, but so that they can fix their mistakes because you want to see them succeed.
Long story short, I spoke with Mark who introduced himself as a manager and offered me either a replacement poboy, credit or a full refund. I let him know that Olde Tyme Grocery usually has what I consider the best poboys in the world (not exaggerating), perhaps even a last meal consideration, which is why I frequent the place when I'm in town. I'm sure the glimpse of my phone's pic of the sandwich didn't fully depict the magnitude of fail, but I was able to return all but the two bites back to him if he decided to open up the bag and check it out. The rest is in their hands to see that this doesn't happen again.
I'll definitely be back, and even with this glitch, I would still recommend the food to anyone, as it's been solid poboy stop for me when in Lafayette for over a decade.
As for the person who fried this...
...let me know what nights you're not working.

Glad you let them know. Their poboys are pretty goddamned good, but that picture does not look pretty goddamned good.
That picture simply does not equate to their usual product. It's good that you let them know something was off and it didn't simply get left out here as an example of what they do.

I've had crawfish poboys from Old Tyme that were great. Got one 3 weeks ago that was really greasy. I guess one bad one out of 10 ain't bad.

I may be wrong, but the bread that they use at Chris' looks alot like the french bread sold at pouparts. Id be interested in knowing if that is where they get the bread from. either way I like it. Chris' RB poboy is by far the best in lafayette, much better than old tyme sliced manda roast beef.
