My son's name is Nathaniel, but my original choice was to name him Garrison. I think little boys should have strong names that will present them as strong men. At the time I was friends with a girl who's son was named garen, and so I changed my choice, and now I don't even talk to her. I wish I had stayed with what I wanted.

What I'm trying to stress to my wife is that one day your little boy will be a man. He might be someone's boss or something. It's not bad to give him an adult name.

The social security administration will let you view the top 1000 names for any given year. I printed off two sets of the list and Mrs. Tigerdeacon and I went through marking out the names we did not like. Then we compared our list of names we liked and we had about 7 matching names. We chose from there.

Nah, Nathaniel is a good name, IMO. Plus then he would have been called Mr. (or Ms.) Garrison.

My son goes by J.Henry. Joseph is his first name. Both names are grandfathers names.

But, I always kidded with my wife that we should name him Senator. Not really...but thought as a sales rep like I was at the time it would almost guarantee access to decision makers. "Senator (surname) is on line one"

Also, my real last name starts with Mc. All my close friends have always just called me Mac. Always liked Mac or Mack as a first name.

Bad choice simply because when he got older, everyone would give him shite for sharing the same name as a character from South Park. May as well name him Cartman or Butters.

Named our son Nathan with the middle name Avery.

At first we were going with Nathaniel, but decided on Nathan because it flowed with the middle name so well.

Solid choice whichever way you go IMO
