Much more effective interior runner than he looks due to impressive core strength and forward lean. Possesses subtle quickness as would-be tacklers arrive to slip and slide through contact and is too strong for arm tackles. Rarely takes flush hits. Pass blocks the same way in which he runs, showing subtle power and quickness to quietly get the job despite less than ideal size. Former WR (another similarity shared with Sherman). Hands are good, but not elite. Long arms and big catching radius; tough to fit one in around him when he's in position. Outstanding leaping ability and good body control to adjust. Can be late locating ball over his shoulder when trailing vertical route. Better ball skills when attacking in front of him. Put ball skills on display with extended pluck INT vs. UCLA (1st QTR). In 2013, had one INT in each of first four games but none in final nine games. Still finished career with 22 PBU's and six INTs in 19 starts.
