Don't blame that on LinkedIn, blame your shitty connections.

Do you ever look at profiles of the random connection requests from slutty looking chicks? If you look to the right of the page, the "People Also Viewed" section will be nothing but other slutty looking chicks from the creepers. It seems more like MySpace than FB.

Good luck. I deleted my LI account more than a month ago and I'm still getting spam emails from people I've never heard of asking me to connect with them.

I regret ever signing up for LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is a huge tool for getting hired. It is the first thing I look at if I get an interesting resume. Because it is public, people are less likely to lie about precious jobs.

THIS. If I get an interesting resume, first thing I do is see if the resume matches to see if the potential hire is BSing. The second thing is who else we know in common.

I don't get any spam from LinkedIn. Not sure what the rest of you guys are doing wrong. It's pretty much harmless.

It's a good way for people to know how to make connections to you as well as find out how to get introductions to other people.

I don't get the spam either. They send one email a week with really great articles (thus I have never unsibscribed).

This is all a get along with the weekly jobs email.

You just need to know where the privacy filters are (they are actually kind of hidden).

We had to do this too and I have used it ever since. It is a good tool to have in today's job market. I get calls from recruiters every single day because of it, which can get annoying, but id would rather be getting called than not

LinkedIn is great - I have zero complaints and it is a great way to get national and international exposure (if you have a background people are interested in).

My roommate gets almost double digit inquiries each week.

I have had multiple companies reach out to me regarding job opportunities... Just saying that a lot of folks genuinely use it to look for people to hire. The email spam is easily turned off.

I am a mid-career professional in a HEAVY networking city in my industry. I choose to stay off of LinkedIn and not have to put up with recruiters, etc.

This has not hurt me in getting new jobs. I probably miss out on a potential recruiting bump, but I am happy staying under the radar.
