or at least efficient use of beer waste, which will raise the cost of beer
those motherfrickers
i wonder if the pro-organics and believers in natural environmental disposals will fight this or fall in line with biggov

As anyone who's ever brewed their own beer knows, the process leaves a lot of excess ... stuff. This goopy aftermath of the brewing process is known as "spent grain," and it would generally go to waste. But many brewers have developed relationships with farmers, who feed the spent grain to cows and other livestock. It's a win-win: Farmers get cost-effective feed, while brewers cut down on environmental waste and also possibly make some extra cash (or at least save cash by not having to dispose of the spent grain).
Obviously, this won't do.
Under new rules proposed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, breweries would be required to dry and package spent grain before it could be given or sold to farmers to use as feed. Both brewers and farmers are upset by the proposal, which they say would pose a big financial burden and also just generally makes no sense.

This article is incomplete.
Why are they having to do this?
Has there been some type of horrible event that has caused the new regulation?

How does the FDA have jurisdiction over breweries?
Or, maybe the don't...they have jurisdiction over pig farms?
I don't understand the perceived danger of using the spend grain as pig food.

It's all about control. These frickers want to use regulations to control and destroy business. That's what happens when u have unchecked bureaucracies who feel the need to constantly "do something"

Typical, drying grain is extremely inefficient and energy intensive and producing packaging will deplete our limited natural resources. Oh yea, then we will have to dispose of the packaging... I like this a lot

That description applies to most things the government does.

Administrative regulations of FedGov traditionally are Unconstitutional if they are "arbitrary and capricious".
Have we also abandoned that constraint of FedGov power? We've abandoned so many . . . it's tough to keep track of them.

Oh no. Obama may have to find another peace maker.

Distillers grains have been used in feed for a long time.
I'm curious as to what the FDA will be testing it for.
This shite is just infuriating.
I'll come up with a coherent response later.

Is your title intentionally misleading?

I brew my own beer so it doesn't hit my pocket. Sucks for people who have to buy it off the shelf.

So with absolutely no real information , the board decides how awful it is.
Maybe it is but we sure won't figure it out here.

The brewery can't even legally sell the beer direct to the consumer due to state and local laws.
That's ok though.

The sheer stupidity of the government never ceases to amaze.

FDA= FUCKING DUMB ASSES
This is quite possibly one of the dumbest proposals that I have ever been exposed to by government.
Beer is Expensive Enough Already
