They overused the shite out of Pam. And there's no way back now other than kill her and move on.

I was talking with my buddy about it and we both agree it's going down hill. I think the new plot is fine and could absolutely be funny but as yall said Pam is overused and IMO the fact they constantly frick up is irritating. I loved Archer before because while they were idiots they usually won and IYAM people love winners. Lovable losers are great but I loved how they would always succeed in an arse-backward way. I am tired of them always fricking up.
For instance, Barry was a shite load funnier before he was a cyborg because he was always getting dicked over. shite, Barry hasn't even been in it unless he was in tonight's episode

Yeah this season isn't as good. I thought the vice thing would work but it really hasn't

agree with all of the above, this season has nothing new and isn't funny

I watched every episode before this season. The episode where they made a cocaine cast for Pam to smuggle the cocaine was really disgusting since Pam kept eating the cast and not funny. I have not watched an episode since nor had any desire to. I am done with the series.

I agree. Tonights episode was an all-time low and this entire season has just SUCKED!!! I am about to give up on it if it doesn't better in the next 2-3 episodes.

It sounds like too many of you are victims of your own, all too high, expectations. Is there a single comedy show that is as funny in season 5 as it is in season 1? Absolutely not.(save for maybe Seinfeld)
But if you accept the show for what it is, and succumb to the fact that season 5 is never going to rival seasons 1 & 2 as laugh riots; and just revel in the fact that it is one of the most well written animated comedies ever produced, you would be much happier with the show. If you do nothing but tear it down while its on its run; when the show ends, you end up pining for the days when season 5 was running.
And just so everyone is appeased with how the show will continue, you will be happy to learn that Archer will drop the "Vice" in season 6 and return to the Spy realm- Adam Reed on the record
And by the way, how was the whole Archer's "Rando" and the Red OctKrieger spots not funny to you all.

My take as well. But I think this is the case for many things. Everyone inevitably loves the new thing, especially when it's as well done and unique as Archer was at first. But a thing can only be unique for so long.
I've enjoyed this season precisely because it tried something different. I don't laugh as hard as I once did, but I don't think that's much to do with the writing as much as it has to do with me now having 5 season worth of shows to anticipate where a joke may be headed. I think it's as clever as it always has been. It's just easier to see it coming.
Your mileage may vary, of course...but I'm still enjoying the hell out of Archer every week. I'll be sad to see it go whenever they finally end it.

I thought yesterday's episode was a lot better than it had been.

I still enjoy it but the Pam & Cheryl characters have been pretty much unbearable this season.

Agree on the downward curve of the show and the over use of Pam, although the episode in the jungle was a good one.

this season is a bit of a lull and was pretty excited about the whole 'vice" direction but overall archer is still pizza for me.

It's not that I don't think cyborg Barry is hilarious I just thoughtbhed was funnier before and was trying to go with the whole archer needs to get back to winning thing.
Regardless they better bring back Barry

I agree this season is a step down from previous efforts and the whole vice drug dealing thing just isn't working.
