What's irritating is that I feel like it really could work as archer vice but now I'm hoping they go back to the formula that works just so I can love it again.
And JStan, I get what you're saying but that's what I feel happens to all good shows that run at a high level so long. It wouldn't be such a bummer if I didn't love even last season. The episode with Cossak and Anthony Bourdain may be two of my favorites ever.

I've loved every episode but 2 this season.
Even though I really like Pam, the nom nom nom coke one trick Pony has not worked nor has Archer "Phrasing."
But....that has been their hallmark to have running jokes like the finger held up while they kill off a bottle of booze.
Having said that, even though this weeks episode was subpar....
"your balls are made of pussy" is a Hall of Fame quote from Pam.

I have never seen a show go down so quickly in one season. Its SOOOOOO bad this year! Last night episode was my last for sure.

I don't know what it is but I am over that show, I will never watch another episode unless people start telling me its gotten WAY better. Maybe they fired all of the writers from previous seasons or maybe it has just gotten old? Either way I hate it now.

Damn, I still think Archer is the funniest thing on tv. The problem is the Archer crew can't be the lovable losers. They need to frick up and somehow succeed. I'm thinking by the end of the season they'll wind up making millions. Coked out Pam is getting kind of old, but I do like the increased focus on Krieger.
And if I'm not mistaken they can't fire the writers, because I think Adam Reed writes everything himself.

I've always thought Pam and Cheryl were annoying. Both okay in small doses.
I don't necessarily miss the spy thing. If they can make this work, I'm fine with that. It just hasn't been very funny this season.

I've actually accepted way they are now and have enjoyed the last few more than the ones before it. It's not as good as it was and I really respect them trying something new and am bummed that it didn't work but with lowered expectations I still like the show.

I think they are trying to take the concept of screwing up and then coming out smelling like roses and span it across an entire season instead of 1-3 episodes like they did in previous seasons.
The show is still entertaining, just hard to keep fans interested that are used to one concept then completely change the whole show.
I will say they need to tone down Pam and fricking Outlaw Country Cherlene a bit. I have gained a bit of interest with where they started heading with Kreiger in the last episode.
Lana being pregnant has slowed things down being she can't go on the missions and she was a huge part of what made the show funny.
They need to go back to the basics which is, Archer as the focus with Ray, Lana, Cyril and Malory as his main supporting cast. Make Cheryl/Cherlene/Crystal/Whatever the shite her name is at the time, Pam and Kreiger come in for quick laughs then move on.
My only hope is this slow build up ends with a huge laugh in these last few episodes as they wrap everything up for the season.
On a side note, there will be at least 2 more seasons.

I've actually liked this season. It's different but still very enjoyable IMO
ETA: I don't go out and look for ways shows and movies can fail like a lot of posters seems to do on this site. I watch the shows for what they are and it's very enjoyable
