We were struggling to get runs across even when we was hitting. Ibarra isn't the same. Laird wasn't hitting early. And we've been giving a lot of ABs to Chinea.

As long as our team batting avg. is around .250, I'm good.

Sadly that's all you need to win the CWS these days.

we are 2-0 on the weekend and 3-2 in the SEC I'm not worried. We have a lot of young batters who are not use to SEC pitching yet when they get adjusted we will hit better. To much potential in this lineup.

Half of the SEC is at 3-2 or better

It's not much help when the potential sits the bench. (Fraley)

We all need to understand, runs won't be scored the same way they were in the past.

These wiffle ball bats have moved the game mostly to the infield. Bunting and having speed to get infield singles is what is winning these days (UCLA).

Guaranteed nice gappers and HRs are always nice, but that's not the norm anymore, we need to be recruiting players that can play defense, really good pitchers and guys that get the fundamentals and can bunt and do hit-n-runs with ease.

(1) The whiffle bats have a lot to do with it.

(2) The LSU pitching staff has accounted for 9 shutouts, so plenty of teams are scoring even less.

This is the same poster who back on 3/15 and 21 games started a thread about people who came to the conclusion about the team this early do not know baseball. Yet you start a thread a week later saying we are not scoring enough. In the thread on 3/15, you debated my reply about seeing trouble with hitting in the first 2 weeks of the season....:so I ask the OP, what are your true beliefs and why do you talk on both sides of your mouth????

It's better to have weaker bats but solid pitching and defense. Nola is almost a guaranteed win. Then you just need one of the next two starters to have a good outing and put up 1 more run than the other team to win 2 games.

Is this team good enough right now to win the CWS? Probably not, without better hitting.

Is this team good enough to make it to Omaha? Hell yes!!

If your expectations every year for everything lsu is NC or bust then prepare to be disappointed more often than not. This is a good baseball team and they will continue to get better. Just need to continue to win series. Nearly every team that crosses paths with Vandy will come away with at least two loses. That 3-2 record doesn't mean the sky is falling.
