The #Saints are cutting RB Darren Sproles, per source.

I'll miss him. So ridiculous in 2011. I don't think this affects PT in any way and I think he'll be cut as well while we take a look at pass catching RBs in the middle/late rounds.

Damn, was just about to post this. This is pretty big if it's true. It would put the team in the market for a new scatback, unless they think Cadet is the guy.

I can only imagine a fan with a Sproles jersey laughing at somebody with a Lance Moore jersey earlier today.

@RapSheet: Releasing #Saints RB Darren Sproles saves$3.5M & continues the house cleaning of sorts on offense. Lance Moore cut, Pierre Thomas in danger

Rapoport is usually legit, but this contradicts the earlier report that Sproles wasn't being touched.

Confusing much?

I do agree 100% with cutting(or trading) Sproles though as he saves the most($3.5m) with very little dead money($750k) and will be 31.

And imo opinion he's more replaceable than Thomas is at this point in his career. His return game has tanked, he rarely gets used on the run, and he is too small to be an effective blocker.

Basically he had become a slot receiver.

Something is up. And I don't think it has anything to do with Graham.

How much do we save by releasing him and Moore?
