Sure. shite doesn't go down until he actually signs an offer with another team. If he has a team he doesn't want to play for comes in with the best offer of $11m/yr while the Saints are offering $10m/yr, he could go ahead and sign with us if he wants.

Ok. Thanks. Some of the language made it sound like it was some involuntary series of events, like a team submits the offer and the timer goes off.

Technically there is another option of the Saints trading him, right? If traded he would have no say.
