Is it fun? What is the social vibe scene like there? I might do a guest semester there since LSU NSE program didn't work out. I havent applied yet and i hope i dont have to pay full tuition.

Why do you think you may not have to pay full tuition? Just curious.

Why the frick would you even consider paying that much on tuition (which is still high even at a discounted rate) to see what the social vibe is like?

A lot of rich, liberal, kids from the northeast who like to do a lot of drugs and party. You get to go to school in the greatest party city in America.

What's not to love?

Just go down to the boot a few weekends a month. There you go. Also, add South FL rich kids to their demographic. I have some class mates there.

If you just want the Tulane social experience, spend a day here.

If you get lost, just look for the big bag of Jew gold hanging from the door.

I hear Tulane is a great experience. They have been turning a way something like 20,000 applicants a year the last 3 or 4 years.

I have a friend that works there and he helps handle some of the special events that they put on for the students. I know they let them buy french quarter fest and jazzfest tickets at a discount and provide bus service too and from all day for the students.

Plus, I think alot of the out of state kids go there just because of the two week mardi gras experience they get.

I would never consider spending that kind of money, but not being around rednecks at college in La would be pretty cool.

Tulane is a completely different social scene from your typical state school. The best thing about in my opinion is that you're in one of the best cities in country and you meet kids from every corner of the country, most being very wealthy. And yeah, Tulane isn't the same school rankings wise as it used to be ("Harvard of the South") but honestly that isn't too big of a deal. It's all about who you know not what you know. And at Tulane, you can make so many connections that arent possible at LSU. Every other kid has a dad that's a CEO. Tulane has it's fair share of weirdos but there's also many good people. The fact that your only going for a semester kind of changed things because freshman year you meet most of the kids you'll hang out with over the years.

If it's through NSE then I doubt you'll have to pay Tulane tuition.
