Got the UE Boom after going back and forth between it and the Bose Soundlink Mini.

Since they were about the same price range, it came down to performance and battery life for me. Both sounded good, with the Boom being better on the high end and the Bose being better with bass.

However, the Boom has a battery life that is almost double that of the Bose, and I've put it to the test. It's legit. I've worked an entire day plus cooked dinner that night while listening to music, and at the end of the day, it still had about 30% charge.

Other key features that sold me on the Boom

1. It's dust and water resistant so it's better if you want to bring it outdoors at all

2. If you ever want to buy a second one, you can pair them together and listen in stereo mode (left and right) via the free app. No app for the Bose.

Don't have anything bad to say about it. Hope that helps.

I've had the UE booms for several months, I really like the speaker. Good sound and it gets plenty loud, battery life is also good. Also, they are built like tanks.
