This show is way to good for nbc.

It really is. I didn't start watching until towards the end of S1 just because it was on NBC.

the production values on the show are incredible for network television.

Watched S2 ep2 last night. Amazing episode. People really shouldn't sleep on this one. Easily one of the best shows on air

a particularly gruesome scene...don't want to give spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched yet, but it reminded me of something in "the silence of the lambs".

Bumped the wrong thread yesterday apparently, couldn't find this one.

I sat down and watched the three episodes from this season and they were all very good, probably the best of the series so far. If this show gets canceled, it will most likely be due to being too dark for network tv.

The ratings are not good. But it's also on Friday night, so the bar is lowered. And it's on NBC, so the bar is lowered even farther. If Chuck, Community, et al can get 5 seasons with their ratings, Hannibal has hope.

IIRC, renewal was up in the air last year too, but Fuller intimated that if NBC didn't pick it up, someone else would. Hope that's still the case. This is easily the best show on TV until Mad Men comes back.

Good episode last night, but a step back for me. More of an arranging pieces episode but still very good. And a step back from the first two episodes is nothing bad at all. Those were 2 GREAT hours.

I thought Will's final dream sequence with the elk/moose and Hannibal was interesting. Is he starting to doubt Hannibal is the killer? What was going on there?

I do not think so. I believe he is playing Hannibal.

i think the elk has been representative of hannibal in will's mind all along, especially before he fully realized the connection, so i thought the dream sequence indicated his understanding that hannibal isn't really trying to help him...the elk aspect leads him out of his cell, yet hannibal is directing him right back into it...just my take on it.

Absolutely agree with this. The elk = Hannibal. He even sees Hannibal as a weird elk man these days.

I think that's a good take on it. I guess what confused me is seeing Hannibal and the elk together. Does he not think Hannibal is the copycat killer? I thought the show was leading us to that conclusion but then I read this walkthrough with the show runner. Very interesting- sounds like episode 5 will be bonkers.

Will is definitely playing Hannibal et al and through this manipulation, becoming more like him. Maybe that loss of identity has something to do with it?

Sad this thread is only 2 pages and it's a "season 2" thread

Such a great show. I really hope it gets picked up by someone like FX or something. They have Archer, The Americans, Legit, and Hannibal would be a great addition if NBC wants to shite the bed on this series.
