You know reke's playing style (main arsenal) is to drive to the basket right?

For reasons (ankle being the biggest one), he wasn't hitting those shots like normal. I think it was like 10-15% less than his normal average for his career.

Did you watch the game where his ankle literally touched the court/ground? He didn't miss any games either, but everyone knew he wasn't playing with a healthy ankle for a few months. He was also playing what- 24-25 minutes a game when brian roberts was playing like 30+, so is roberts a better player? frick no. monty is just a bad coach that took forever to figure how to use evans out.

It isn't a shock that in March when he played normal 30+ minutes, he put up the same (if not better) #s he put up in his whole rookie season.

The 2 mysteries for him (defense is for everyone on the team) are shooting and playing time.

I don't get why people hate on Reke's defense so much. Most of his advanced stats show he's a capable defender and he's done a great job guarding PGs in the starting PG role. Is he prone to stupid lapses occasionally? Yes. But his man to man defense is pretty solid.

The sooner Monty figures out that having Steimsma and Reke on the floor at the same time completely neutralizes Reke's best assets, the better. That Spurs game was over from the jump (we are likely gonna lose 19 of 20 anyways on the road there without AD the way they've been playing) because of that ridiculous starting lineup Monty trotted out. Then dumbass trots it out to start the 2nd half too and the hole gets deeper. Minus that lineup, we were fairly competitive against a very good team.

Man, you are persistent with your opinions. I prefer to look at the franchise from a what-will-be perspective instead of a what-could-have-been perspective, which makes it more fun for me. Don't take that as me saying that you don't have fun with it or enjoy yourself.

I don't necessarily disagree with your opinions, and I respect that you have a backbone / form your own ideas.

Adjusting from a sunset view to a sunrise view helps me stay positive. AD is a 21 year old beast, and that is the most important thing to take away from this season. He will be here for a while, and we will have time to adjust the roster. Maybe Dell could have taken a more cap friendly route, but we aren't in a bad situation other than Gordon's contract.

Here's to Dell, in the hopes that he can move Gordon this summer

Thank you for trying my man, but brmark is beyond reason. He is either a troll or just completely ill-informed

WTF are you talking about? We had a perfectly good debate that was very cordial and never once broke down to name calling. I totally respect his point of view and think he made a lot of great points. How was I trolling anybody?

This is obviously not perfect, but I really can't stand the arguments about what a 12 million dollar a year guy is like or what he should do.

Its a pretty basic principle that the more you get paid, the more is expected of you. If you make 10+M a year, there should be certain expectations of you as a player. I expect a guy making that much to be a solid starter or at least playing 30+ minutes a game. Depending on his skill set, I expect him to be in the top 10-15 at his position. Either a borderline elite scorer or defender, maybe a combination of both. I think those are reasonable expectations..

He's an 11mil player that was forced to play ~25mpg because the coach didn't know what the hell to do with him. His playing time was not based on his lack of production or ability, it was the inept ability of a coach to play him and instead start a dleague level PG.

It isn't a coincidence that in March, he has averaged:
37.5 mpg
51.4 fg%
32.0 3pt%
78.8 ft%
5.6 rpg
6.9 apg
2.1 TOpg
2.1 combined spg/bpg
20.8 ppg

His season average is 10 less minutes and dropped production.

ETA: his rookie season where he averaged 20.1ppg, 5.3 rpg, and 5.8 apg, he played 37.2 minutes.

That was also the first rookie since LeBron to put up 20/5/5.

But what is it based off of? Just your thoughts. I might think that a car should only be worth 10 dollars and think that's reasonable but that doesn't mean anything. The market sets the price. There will always be actors in the market with seemingly odd actions ( I don't think Nic Batum deserves 12 million, but Portland's hand was forced because of RFA and Minnesota offering Batum that much). Which leads to players being overpayed. However, we can judge a few years later, by looking at who was paid similarly and comparing the production. Just going off of this first year, I'd say Tyreke fits with this group. A group, in which each guy either has one elite skill, with other average skills or several above average skills. Each guy on this list has a hole in his game that is not always completely erased by their good/great qualities.

This 30 minutes a game really seems to be a sticking point with you. You believe that the fact that Monty could even question whether to give him 30+ minutes is a sign that something is wrong with Tyreke. I would however assert that this further demonstrates the problems with Monty. We shall just agree to disagree on this point.
