Made the rookie mistake of not bringing a cooler out there last year and had to buy over priced abitas.

I wanna say they had Tin Roof ( ) at the fest last year. They definitely had only Tin Roof or Budweiser at Fest for All this past weekend.

every radio advertisement for BR blues fest i've heard is basically pleading with you to not bring ice chests and support the festival by buying their beer

More than likely not wanting. There isn't a gate to walk into at the beginning or anything. There are cops walking around, but I don't ever recall seeing them hassle people for having a small cooler.

Weather is looking promising. Maybe a tad hot.

geeeez i wonder why? They can't put on a free festival without the vendor revenue. Seems tacky in the first place to walk around with a cooler. Suck it up and quit being cheap or you could be paying $15+ with a gated festival. Let us never forget Bon Fete. It was free the first year and Dr John performed. the next year it was $25 and gated. There was no third year. Just saying.

1. If you want me to pay $8 for a beer, give me a decent beer.

2. The second year of Bon Fete sucked arse. Vertical Horizon? Get out of here with that shite.

3. Trying to make a bicentennial into an annual event was stupid.

4. If you want me to pay $8 for a beer, give me a decent beer.

bon fete was trashy the second year and so are coolers .. but this thing will not stay free if it turns into a free for all. Kind of a principal thing really. I live in NOLA and am heading to FQF this weekend ..... if i have to drink a few beers i normally wouldn't who gives a f***. i tend not to over think alcohol choices for a grand total of 6 hours. bigger picture thinking

got some pretty good things coming up ..... not quite super jams but Bernie Worrell (with captain green or onion loaf likely) will be sweet.

Lil Ed and the Blues IMperials with Jonathan Boogie Long and Dirk quinn a week from tonight is a packed night as well.
