You're right in saying it won't earn him major cash, but it does say something about his athleticism which is always a plus for scouts. I think his combine performance/interviews could jump him up a round, but I always had him pegged for a 3-4 rounder anyways. Not really a big difference.

I'm sure all these highly paid NFL coaches and scouts are lined up watching OL run the 40 for absolutely no reason at all.
If the OL 40 didn't mean anything they wouldn't have them do it.

Yeah no shite athleticism will help. But there are better test of athleticism for an OL than a 40 time. Any OL that ran slower than Trai could be quicker in other drills which would be more relevant for an OL. So a 40 time alone isn't earning him MAJOR cash
