Rivers said his brother is transferring because he’s more of a project quarterback, and LSU’s offense will feature quarterbacks with more talent.

Y'all realize the read option is just the excuse... The real reason Rivers is transferring is because he sliding down the depth chart (I.e. not that good)

After years of crappy offenses lead by an "option-style QB" we get a pro-style QB and finally our offense flourishes. Forgive me for cringing a little when I find out that we are abandoning what worked so well and going back to what mostly didn't work.

Best option for all involved. Hopefully he starts the next two years somewhere.

He really should've left after the spring game last year and not wasted an entire season. Said it last April.

Since he can play immediately, he didn't really waste a year. In fact that year under Cam was invaluable.

So now we're abandoning everything from last season. Man Phillip Rivers has some inside on lsu's program....

JJ was a bad QB because he was a bad QB. Not because he was a dual threat.

Lee was a bad QB because he was a bad QB. Not because he was a pocket passer.

On the other hand

Mett was pretty bad in 2012. Not because he was a pocket passer.

Mett was really good in 2013. Not because he was a pocket passer. But because Cam Cameron fixed his mechanics and lead the offense to success.

Read Option

God dammit...

God forbid we try and spread people out to run every once in a blue moon. That'd be silly. This is SEC football yaw yaw two tights two backs!

Not like we'll ever run a read option offense anyway.

Ou offense under Gary Crowton his 1st year set records and we won a MNC. Did you blindly "trust" him after his 1st year. He was also a former NFL OC and our offense was great in 2007. Was GC above question or criticism?

Watch the bowl game again. That's what you'll see this year. Won't see any blowouts, but it'll keep you in every game. Very successful formula.

Exactly. We weren't running read option last season when AJ passed him up in one spring.

Hey I'm all for the dual threat qbs just wanted to see rivers fight for it cause mett was great for us as a pro style qb. Good luck if true thanks for choosing us first.

1st time AJ started and sloppy weather conditions didn't play a role?

You don't recruit talent like Quinn,Dupre and Washington to not sling the ball around.

Wanna bet? You also don't recruit Fournette and start a green QB to sling the ball around. Les learned his lesson in 08. He'll be super conservative next year. Like I said, very successful formula and wins a lot of ball games.
