Iowa St students will probably heckle him about it. They are passionate in Ames, but I dont think they'll do anything offensive, but they will be hostile.

ETA: its a tough place to play on the road

When people said if it was the other side who was acting like it was just insane to usr a hypothetical scenario of what could havecaused him to be mad. Then the debate was isitpossible that someone could use a racial slur at a game which one side couldnt billieve ever happened.

Maybe 1 person defended smarts actions. But it still doesnt take away one side goy really up in arms by someones hypothetical situation. I would assume the racist

Texas Tech completed its own internal review of the situation Sunday. In a statement released through the university, Orr said that he called Smart a “piece of crap” but did not say anything racial.

In previous text messages, Orr had told a friend, “I kinda let my mouth say something I shouldn’t have. I feel bad.” Orr said then that what he said was neither racial or vulgar.

Loudmouth fan
Player with history of temper

Both at fault, but you don't put your hands on a fan for something verbal. Life is full of jerks so Smart better figure out how to deal with it.

I'd like to know if Smart made the claim that he was called the N word.

If he lied about that, that should be grounds for even more discipline.

Well, Smart didn't apologize to the fan really, just his team, coach, fan base.

I feel like there is still animosity there about what was said.

What for? Who should discipline him?

He allegedly told his coach this. Some "reporter" overheard it and people ran with it as fact. Probably the reporter didn't overhear anything. And even if they did, it was between the player and coach.

There's several phone audio/vids of the incident coming out now. One I heard is clear...."piece of crap" and that's it. Smart probably played the race card to cover for his actions.

Why did he call him a "piece of crap" was Smart talking trash. I haven't watched any of the videos or replays. Did the man just call him a piece of crap for no damn reason??? Seems like there's more to the story. I'm sure Smart heard waaaaay worse from other fans.lol.

Dunno....the guy is an admitted loudmouth fan so he might have been riding Smart the whole game and this set him off.

If he claimed that the guy called him a N----, just to cover for his actions, he should be disciplined by the school. And, the suspension should be at least doubled.

Most likely, yes.

This particular fan has a history of going overboard in verbal abuse of players.

Smart just landed a hard foul on a runaway lay up by a Tech player...he probably called a piece of crap for the foul. You can go to any ball game and literally hear something similar every time

Most people were saying it was somewhat justified if a race word was used and should only have a few game suspension. I think he would have gotten worse if that wasn't assumed by everyone including OSU.
