What odds do you put on BH overtaking AJ at some point in the 2014 as the starter, if at all?

I would have said no way, and then I watched the bowl game. I'm hoping that was just first-start jitters for AJ.

Brandon Harris just has a Vick-like release on the ball, though. SNAP! Not to mention he may have more mobility than Jennings.

But, Jennings is no slouch and will have had 1.5 years with Cam Cameron under his belt by the time Sept rolls around.

What say you?

Both will be able to complete handoffs to LF. That can't hurt.

Harris will redshirt. The battle will be between Jennings and Rettig IMO.

Harris has a long way to go before he starts a game. Accuracy is still a major issue for him

So Jennings didn't look so good in his first start after getting g playing time, fall practice, and spring ball but you think Harris might step in and be ready right away?

Also, I think rivers and rettig will have something to say about this only being a 2 horse race

I think Harris will redshirt as well.

Dang near impossible to come in and overtake guys that are two seasons ahead of you. Perilloux was all world and couldn't do it.

AJ's bowl game performance? Meh, not worried. Go look back at the Arky game for what kind of chest that kids has. In the bowl game, he wasn't asked to do much. IMO, solid game plan to beat Iowa. Steady dose of Hill.

I think whoever our QB is won't have to do NEARLY as much as the Mett/Beckham/Landry combo did. O line will be slightly better/deeper - a for sure strong point barring no unsuspected bad things. And I honestly due believe that Fournette is that special, and I NEVER say that about a true freshmen coming in.

I think our offense won't be near as pretty, our defense will be better, and we'll win efficiently.

I'm hoping most of all Les stays out of CC's way and lets him work his magic and slot these prospects properly.

I haven't been to a spring game in awhile, but will go see this one to check out these guys.

AJ had a less than impressive showing vs Iowa, as did BH in the UArmour game. Haven't seen Rettig at all obviously so nobody has stood out imo.

All should start out equal and let the competition decide.

Apparently Rettig looks pretty impressive in workouts. Don't count him out.

Harris will start before the season is over. He will not be red shirted. I'm from Bossier. He's that good.

Rivers must suck. If he was anywhere close to Mettenberger, with Cam's system proven to work for a tall pocket passer, the younger brother of a legit Pro Qb would be getting a chance to actually be considered.

oh wait, he probably does have more of a chance that it would appear....or not?

Can we ever just be happy with our QB? Why is everyone giving up on Jennings? Did y'all forget about the 98 yd drive?

It's Jennings job to lose.

Y'all are kidding yourselves if you think otherwise

Brandon Harris is 190lbs right now. And hes an EE and will be in a college strength and conditioning program and go through spring practice. Id be shocked if he wasnt 200lbs by summer.

And Jennings is still an unknown IMO. We saw a great game winning drive from him, then we saw him struggle to say the least vs Iowa. Complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Nobody knows how he will consistently play. We have no idea what kind of QB he is / can be/ will be.

I hope the best player starts. And I have no idea who that is. But there will be a QB Battle. And it will involve Harris in some form. Rettig, Jennings, and Harris.

If Cam can do to AJ what he did to ZM we are good to go and AJ will be great. If he can't then i expect to see Rettig or Harris.

There will be open competition for the QB position this spring. As of now, the job is Jenning's to lose if for no other reason, his performance at the close of last year.

Brandon is a very talented QB and his accuracy, though not equal to his other skills, is not as bad as some think and of all the QB attributes, may be the easiest to correct. He is quick on his feet, throws the tightest, fastest-rotating spiral I've seen in a long time, and was the very first recruit hand-picked by CC on the spot first time he saw him.

Bottom line, competition will be open & staff will put best chance to win on the field. To those saying BH will redshirt well, he might but it's a long shot. A lot of credible people, Mike Dettilier included, say Harris will be starting before the year is out & it wouldn't surprise me at all. Best news is, the QB position is in the hands of young, talented & highly teachable kids supported by a running game to take some of the early year pressure off.

Harris is 6'3 and 195 which is ok for a WR, but not a QB. He'll need a year to bulk up. Harris has some the same problems Mett had in 2012 which were taken care of in an offseason. He should be ready to go next year if need be. IMO, it's Jennings/Rettig Battle. Jennings has the upperhand with game experince though, so Rettig will be in catch up mode.
