"New OrLEENS" isn't acceptable right? I think they would otherwise say it like that and go too far trying to correct themselves.

I don't say it that way when referring to the city, but I do say it that way when I refer to my street, Orleans St. Does this make me a douche?

i think technically it is "correct" as that is the sound "ea" make together.
