I liked the one in Baton Rouge (on Corporate I think?), but it was a bit overpriced. The wait for that place was always ridiculous as well. They do have some badass chocolate milk though.

We enjoy the Shreveport location on occasion. I don't find it as overpriced as everyone else thinks though. It is about $5 more than a place like Strawns or Southfield Grill (typical diners) for a breakfast for me and the wife. I

Yep. On one trip home, I tried to go there and was told there was a 45 min wait. There are few restaurants in NYC where I would wait 45 mins. A breakfast joint in Baton Rouge certainly was not going to make the cut.

So why did they buy into a chain ?
The American dream. Wanted to be their own boss. After talking to the NOLA district manager, a guy that I used to work with, I couldn't believe how quickly this chain is blowing up. They are expanding all over the country. 4 planned for the NOLA area at this point. More after that.

I've been to one in Houston a few times. Was just curious has to the advantages of buying into franchise.

They're really banking on that big a nationwide demand for $20-25 a head breakfast joints, huh?
Heck, I guess I wish them luck.

I've been to the one in Baton Rouge. Mediocre, at best.

That's exactly what I asked him. Simply was wondering what sets them apart from any other local breakfast joint in America? I thought it was good, but not sure if its the next big thing. Local restaurant people will go to the ones here bc of the ownership, but outside of NOLA, I'm not sure the rest of the country will.

One of the most diverse dishes around. If it's good, it's good.

I think they are opening another restaurant on Perkins Rd. near Bluebonnet. It is in the same location that Podnuh's and Salasita occupied. I don't think they have adequate parking to operate a successful restaurant at the location.

Yep a sign on the windows indicate this. Nothing has worked there so far. They have parking behind it in the Matherns lost but doesnt seem like people notice. Location is bad.
BTW what does ABE have to do with Louisiana Lagniappe? I saw that earlier in this thread. The owner of the first one owned LL?

This whole thread has convinced me to avoid this place.

There are a ton of them in the Florida panhandle.
Not a fan.

Been to the mandeville location many many times all with great dining experiences. Went once to the old Hammond location and food/dining experience was not good at all. Not surprising they closed that location.
It was a bad location. Nothing ever succeeded in that spot. Broken Egg was the third or fourth restaurant in that location. All failed.

The old one in BR failed because they changed the name to la Lou but kept the La lagniappe recipes and got sued. Stupid.
This is more accurate. It's a shame too because La Lou was good stuff.

A few dishes, and very early on, before eminent failure circled, and went south fast..in fare and staff.
