You must have a blind in the grass the teal were swarming out there every time I went to catahoula. I only killed about 40 ducks total this year. Didn't get to go as much as I wanted too.... Damn work

I'm kinda lucky. I hunt flooded cypress swamp. GWT were pretty thick in our hole this year. Did better last year with big birds. But all good. GWT eat good. : )

solid numbers

it is threads like this that let me know i have a long way to go, but also that let me know it's possible to get much better ducks/gun/hunt on public land, and in some unlikely looking areas, too.

i admit your numbers looked suspicious. but this is only my second year doing this shite, and i know i have a long arse way to go. you don't mouth off on here all the time looking for attention, so i'm inclined to take it at face value. were you trolling? i'm curious because i sort of gloss over hunting manchac and joyce because of the bad reputation they have of late.

Swampee-
Damn son that's a beat down. We haven't even come close to touching those numbers on our best years. Congrats on a nice season.

Tenfoe-
I'll admit your numbers looked a little strange. I was wondering if that place was rebounding or something. I've talked to a few fellas that claim they still go back in there and kill 4-6 mallards and a few woodies.

For one, I haven't been on a real duck hunt in 2 years.

But I know there are very few big ducks in those places anymore. I thought for sure someone would have busted me earlier.

I didn't forget about you. Only hunted twice and very slow. They ended up not hunting for days cause there were no ducks.

That's what all my friends say, right about the time they post pictures on Facebook with piles of ducks.

I kid. But thanks anyhow. I stayed tied up with a new job and deer killings anyway. Trying to get all my priorities in line before turkey season now. I tell you one thing, after I sell this house I'm living in now, the next one will be my last.

We broke century mark on day 3, another 36 on day 4, went downhill from there. 3.2 per hunter, worst I've had in years. I'm hardheaded and could have greatly improved numbers shooting ringnecks, but if I wanted a dove shoot, I'd dove hunt.

Teal Season:
1 hunt & 6 teal

Big duck season:
4 hunts & 0 ducks for me.

The other guy shot 6 ducks over those 4 hunts though.

I should have quit after teal season and stuck with the 100% success rate.
