He wasn't that bad in right. You're over stating his bad play in the field because he didn't have a good bat after 2010.

I still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about Katz in center for game 3 against Stony Brook.

Me too, but Katz played a better right field than Edward.

Fraley is a good athlete who has had a good pre-season but, Foster has looked especially impressive, both in the field and at bat. Sciambra has also done some nice things.

I understand this, my point was that if you are going to list Edward as a strong arm in right, you have to list Katz as well. Dude threw some darts to home plate.

Mainieri wants fast outfielders. He's sacrificed arm strength for that. No one's had an arm besides Foster and Edward the last two plus seasons.

Bro, do you even Katz?

Our team was not very deep in 2012. Coach had few options. Stony Brook exposed our lack of athleticism in the OF. Last year Coach played the guys with speed out there and sacrificed hitting and arm strength. Hopefully we'll have better balance this year. I am not criticizing the moves last year, just saying it was a reaction to the glaring weakness exposed in the 2012 Super Regional. Hell, we would have won a few games in Omaha if 3 of our top 4 hitters don't go 0 for 24.

This is so depressing. I don't want to think about it anymore. Let's just blame it on the dead bats and the shitty park.

Give it up Boat. He may be a nice young man, but he was a butcher in the field.

I agree with you here.

Mainieri's flaw as a coach is his over-reactive-ness. Over reacting to the bat change, over reacting to the super regional.. Hopefully he doesn't overreact to two fluky games in Omaha. Though right after in June it sounded like he was going to.

To be fair in regards to field complaints, Ibarra would've had at least 2 no doubt homers instead of being in that 0-for-Omaha statistic.

He said in an interview yesterday that he would call the CWS the same way right now as he did last year and hope our top hitters actually produce some offense.

That's good because he was melting down and reverting back to 2011 in his post CWS press conferences.

The only way I could see him overreact from those two games would be that he goes back to 2011 and bunts his clean up hitter every other at bat.

He pretty much verbally bitch slapped small ball tactics today, so I don't think he is going to do that.

Did you listen or read his comments today?

He pretty much said "frick smallball" without actually saying "frick smallball"

To be honest with you, every time he was at the plate last year, I always assumed something good was about to happen...I love him and hope he plays a lot this year
