Brees says Jimmy is a TE

Jimmy posts a message on Facebook half an hour ago that just says, "Wooow!"

Should Brees keep his mouth shut on the issue?

This could very well be in response to Brees, but I hate when an athlete posts something on Social Media and everyone assumes it's related to their career. These guys have lives outside of football. I do wish, however, that Brees stays out of the discussion, especially 2 years removed from his own contract battle.

I dont see a problem with what Drew said, Jimmy IS a TE. They say so on Fox every game during introductions.

Sounds like someone asked him: "Is Jimmy Graham a Tight End or a Receiver"?

The truthful and correct answer is Tight End. If Graham wants receiver money for the franchise tag, that's his business, but don't expect Drew to bend the truth or flat out lie when he's asked a simple question.

Graham needs to grow a pair. He is a tight end. Just because he is only as tough as a receiver doesn't make Him one

Drew has a whole team to think about, not just JG. Even if he intentionally stated that JG was a TE just so JG would only get TE money, then good on him! We have a lot of areas that need addressing. Paying a TE WR money certainly wouldn't help our situation, especially when one of our obvious positions of need is at WR!!!

I love MC, but he has clearly lost a couple of steps. I hope that we can get a bargain on someone in free agency. It would also be nice to snag that WR from TAMU in the draft, but I'm dreaming. That guy will probably be a top 10-15 pick.

If we can get a first rounder for Jimmy I'd do it.

Why should he? It's the truth. If Jimmy thinks he's a WR and wants WR money the Saints need to just trade him. Seriously. I'm sorry but you can't win a SB on a few players who break the cap. Brees might cost a lot of money on our cap but at least he's an elite QB and touches the ball every down. JG might get 6 touches a game. That's not worth making 13+ million a year. We could get 2 1st-rounders with the potential at 2 cheap superstars and allow us money to sign more players.

You have to win big in the draft tow in the SB anyway so I'd rather take our chances in that direction. That's why Seattle is there with guys like Shrman and Wilson who account for like under a million on their cap.

this whole thread is stupid...

had drew said 'Jimmy is a WR' a thread would have been started about that and we'd have everyone in here with their super social media interpretation skills

the offseason usually sucks on message boards, and this is just a very early example of that

many folks will say drew should shut up or not get involved, but drew's response was obviously an answer to a question. its like when the players where responding to ?'s saying drew's a great "QB" when he was working on his deal. besides graham is the romo of tight ends. so if you bashed romo's deal......

Brees is right, Graham is a TE. Not really sure why he's opening his mouth on the subject though, no good can come from it.

I have no problem at all with what Drew said. I do think there's too much being read into it though.
