I'm trying to get into the Oilfield industry with no field experience.

I have heard of Rigzone, and a number of other websites but without experience I'm getting "crickets". It seems one has to know someone in the field to get them started, so any advice on how to get in would be greatly appreciated....

ride down highway 90 and bring a bunch of resumes. if you can't find a job by the end of your trip, i'd be surprised. hell, they probably have a few billboards along the way that say "now hiring". this is the busiest the oil field has been in my 20 years.
good luck.
good luck.

good luck with that.
You're going to start at the very bottom if you do get in.

Could you be more vague?
There are tons of different types of oil field jobs.
You might want to edit your OP and list any possible qualifications and the types of jobs you would be interested in.
Make your title more specific too, or else the thread will get anchored.

if you want to work offshore you have at least have these minimum requirements before anyone will even talk to you.
High School Diploma or GED & Certification Cards, TWIC, Rigging 6th Edition, Water Survival and Safe Gulf.
you can get on as a deckhand, rigger, galley hand, cook, laborer, helper, roustabout

Former military?
Theres a program called Helmets to oilfield or something along those lines.
Uses your GI Bill so its free to you for out of pocket costs and they certify you in everything you need to be in the oilfield/rig industry.

Dude, I don't know how to tell you this, but the entire Oil and Gas industry got together on it, and they're blackballing you. But they said you could still get one of those "OILFIELD TRASH MAKING OILFIELD CASH" stickers, if you want one.

It's political my friend. But if you're serious, just go down to Broussard and go door to door asking for applications.
