Sitting my arse at home playing with my son has been fun these couple of months. I don't see the big deal.

I just don't like the superiority attitude some stay at home moms have. Like they are automatically better because they don't work.

I think most are just naive because they aren't out there working. I don't consider maintaining your home work. I also think it's bullshite that 6000 women say they average over 14 hours cleaning a week.

Losers? Cmon bro.

No one is going to agree with the $113K premise, but Loser is fricking dumb. They're making a choice that I'm sure most mothers would love to make.

At least in the early years.

frick you then.

Stay at home moms are a bunch of losers. I know enough moms with real jobs to know that being nothing but a stay at home mom is a joke, and it's reinforced by all the stay at home moms who have time to blog and watch every show under the sun and spend several hours a day on Facebook complaining about their lives.

That's going too far. We made a choice for her to stay home with our kids until they turned five. We were able to do that, so we did. Some can't or don't, and that's fine too. My wife has a college degree and is back at work now. She's no loser.

:prepares soapbox:

Maybe not 113K a year, but that is my grand sociological idea to re-establish the core of American values. Get rid of all of the current "social programs", and cap it at 1 child or 25 kids, the pay is the same.

Pay moms or dads to stay home and raise their children instead of having them away from the home unit to earn money instead.

Think about the decline in morals and standards over the last 40 years, how much of it is tied into single family homes where the kids raise themselves or fight it out in the streets. Not saying it would solve all of the countries problems, but I think it would go a long way towards adding some stability back in peoples lives. Of course it could be a complete failure, but I think would make a hell of a paper of exercise.

And now that I read most of these responses I realize you all must be 18-22 year old guys who have no kids or sisters with kids.

It's a hell of a lot harder than you can imagine, 1-2 days at home isn't the same thing as 24/7 for 365.

Can't wait until you get married and have some children running around, ask you wife if she LOVES staying at home.

I've done both. After a few years at home, I was bored to death. I enjoy my job and missed it. The housework just isn't that satisfying to me. It's a thankless job.

Stupid fricking study. You get paid to do a job for someone else that is willing to pay you or you get paid for providing a service or producing a good for someone else who is willing to pay for it.

Providing a service to yourself or your kid? Guess you could just pay yourself if it makes you happy. Take money out of left pocket, put it in right pocket. Problem solved.

What? I was raised in a single parent household, and both my parents have worked my entire life. Yet my sister and I didn't raise ourselves or fight it out in the streets.

Paying parents to stay home with their kids in lieu of other social programs isn't going to solve any problems. Parents can work and still be involved parents, and staying home all day doesn't make someone an involved parent.

Yeah I would consider going part time or work a couple shifts a month before I would ever completely stay at home.

But I'm very biased....watched my mom stay at home when I was a kid and be so dependent on my dad and swore I'd never be her.

We were so poor growing up, I would have honestly rather her work when I was a kid so we could have basics that many others took for granted(house with central a/c; health insurance; regular dental care as a kid, etc, etc).

And working is? Go back to work if you aren't happy. Plenty of women do both you know. If anyone has a right to complain it's them.

This is the dumbest thing I've read today, and TD has a lot of dumb shite on it. American values? Wtf are those? 50's white middle class suburban humdrum?
