Thoughts on people who wear Che Guevara shirts

It had been a while since I have seen someone wear one but I saw somebody wearing one tonight. I believe you can wear whatever makes you happy but I was just curious. Do they know what the man stood for? Do they wear it for what it symbolizes? Do they wear it because they saw someone else wear it?
For those that aren't aware of what I'm referring to:

Che Guevara was a marxist. I refuse to associate with people who wear that

Probably just as unaware as Guevara himself was.

I'm convinced they do not.

People wear them because it makes them feel unique.

I walked behind a guy wearing a Che shirt, walking towards a Subway sandwich shop, drinking a Starbucks coffee in Athens, Greece. Got a pic of it. Couldn't miss that.

I figured people who wore them nowadays were wearing them to be ironic and make fun of the people in the 90s that wore them.
Che reminds me of an interesting article I read several years ago.

there were these great shirts with that image and "I don't know who this guy is" above it. The Che family ended their production really quick. My husband still regrets not getting one when he saw it.

A physician and Castro's second in command during the Cuban revolution, Fidel sent him to stir up revolution in South America to keep him from being a rival. Assassinated, allegedly by Bolivian police, but it was probably American Green Berets who actually pulled the trigger.
Before he went to Cuba, Che treated lepers in Brazil, and libertarian Murray Rothbard called him a "heroic figure." A complicated figure, and not easily pigeonholed, despite attempts by both the left and right.
He also looked a little bit like the young Michael Corleone

Dude was a stone cold killer, I'd rather wear a Jesse Jackson tshirt.

I'm pretty liberal and even i wouldn't wear a Che shirt

Whoever marketed these shirts is a fricking hypocrite. Oh the irony of marxist, lesbian, gay college communists using money to purchase a dirtbag shirt.

I had a LSU shirt that had Mike dressed up like Che.
I thought it was funny.
