How pathetic our receivers were this season. Teams were able to put #1s and double cover our TE without having to worry about a WR to make them pay. We should be wanting that matchup. Colston is a #2 now, stills should be a good one. It's time to get rid of Moore

WR in the first imo

Most teams are starting to get two starting caliber #1 DBs as well. For seattle, sherman gets a lot of credit, but maxwell is pretty good himself. Not factoring the safeties they have it is a nightmare for any team that can't run. We had a pretty good greer/lewis combo - hopefully we can replicate that as well as shoring up our receivers

Problem is that I'm not sure what we'll get at WR by the time we pick.

It's hard to find a game changer that isn't a project after the top 5 or so are gone.

Graham makes his living down the middle of the field. When you have no one that makes the safety vacate the middle of the field, it makes it hard to get open.

WR is our biggest need. If teams continue to put a safety over the top of Graham, we have to be able to take advantage of the matchups on the outside.

I would possibly jizz in my pants if we were able to land Evans from TAMU

I am the only one who thinks that although Colston may have lost a step, Brees locked on to Jimmy Graham no matter if he was double or triple covered??....I fail to believe that between Colston, Moore, and Stills, none of them could get separation.
Not saying we don't need a WR, I just think Brees locking on to JG also played a part as well.

In 5 games against 3 of the top 5 defenses in the league Colston had 34 catches for 439 yards. That is right about 7 catches for 90 yards per game. This includes 2 games with more than 125 yards.

The fact is that in a combined 52 games the 49ers, Seahawks, and Panthers allowed a total of 14 guys to have more than 100 receiving yards in a game. Now guess who has 2 of those 14...... Colston.

I bet the Saints and Panthers are the only 2 teams in the league that had to play 5 games against top 5 defenses and 7 games against top 10 defenses.

Graham definitely got punked by seattle and the WRs get absolutely no separation.. but a big part of the blame goes on Brees. Brees couldn't throw 8 yards down the field.. The pass to meachem should've been an EASY interception.

Payton's predictable play calling didn't help.. run on 1st and 2nd down, try to throw to Graham at the 1st down marker on 3rd down. Sea was able to double Graham or sit on the short routes due to Brees lack of arm strength/protection of oline.

The problem is bigger than Graham and the receivers..

It really makes me happy that everyone eye's are finally open about our WR corps. We've been relying on Drew's insane accuracy for so long. I still think Moore is a viable slot guy. Colston is good but doesn't really scare anyone. And Jimmy is a creampuff and while always a legit redone threat, really disappears when he isn't being played one on one.

I don't really have the answers besides stating the obvious. But even top first round WRs are coin flips. WR is probably the most missed on pick year in an year out.
