Biggest opponents will be the sheriffs.

Legalizing pot would hit them hard in the pocket book---just saying.

Look man. Weed just destroyed two families I'm close to. Making it legal will only result in higher usage rates, and all the negatives that go with it, along with NO positives to offset them, besides the tax money. Even if it is legal, it should be discouraged in every way, shape and form.

I'm sure the only reason it destroyed the families was because it is

a. illegal
b. some jobs drug test you for it

Seriously Clark? lol. Look I'm behind the legalization of weed but this statement is utter nonsense.

Not really. I didn't really smoke in high school but it would have been way easier getting a gram than a case of beer.

Its way harder to buy alcohol underage than to get drugs. As long as you have a phone and a dealers number you're good to go. You need a lot more than that to buy alcohol.

Why is it nonsense? I had a much harder time buying booze and cigs in high school. Dealers don't card.

I don't mean to be rude but how did weed destroy a family?

I'd love to hear some serious positives that come from marijuana use.

I hope all states pass it. It hurts nobody to smoke weed, except maybe health issues with the user, but no worse than alcohol, prescription drugs, or cigarettes.

It would hamper the Cartel's influence, it would save taxpayer money with the WOD, it would create a legal industry for growers, sellers, equipment manufacturing, etc.

There are people who are truly knowledgeable about growing weed and love to grow/sell it. It creates job opportunities for these people to become taxpayers rather than criminals.

I actually don't mind gay marriage either.

I just think the issue should be restructured. As in no tax benefits for married couples. Marriage is a church issue, leave it that way. No Gov't involvement financially..they shouldn't give one group special financial incentives over another.

Each state should recognize a "marriage" between any type of legal consenting adults for property/legal reasons. One that can be done through the church, or simply through the courthouse. The state can't deny anyone of legal age this marriage, but a church could deny performing a marriage if it is in violation of their personal beliefs.

frick you for enabling the fat pigs in the prison industrial complex, expanding an out of control state of law enforcement, keeping police from doing real police work, taking people away from their families for consensually doing something that was hurting no one and giving us the highest incarceration rate in the world.

You're going to be on the wrong side of history and I can't wait to laugh my arse off at you.

You can really tell who's a hypocrite in this thread with responses like that.

I've touched on what you posted before, it sucks how common sense legalization always has to be tied to some disproportionately large tax. Doing the logical thing is not sufficient.

If weed were legalized, how would it effect drug test with jobs and such? One would assume that it would fall under the same area as alcohol. But could the employer decide to still fire people who tested positive for weed?

Personally, I don't care if there is a tax on it. although I don't agree with "taxing the ever living piss out of it", either. His idea was pretty dumb.
