LSU nearly doubles the rest of college football with early entrees to the NFL in the last two seasons.

Teams that recruit in the top 25 should expect to have that many leave for NFL. Your math is just dumb if you compare LSU's numbers vs rest of college football.

Do you have numbers for the top 25 recruiting classes for the past 5 years. That would be a stating point.

Also, provide reference to the data you are using. Otherwise the numbers are right out of your wazoo to make your assertions sound like facts.

The perception is that either LSU players overvalue their ability, or that they are that talented, but they are not coached well in college.

Who said that? If it's your interpretation of some article, you are afflicted by rantardism.
quote:

Sorry guys, but that is the perception around the country.

Provide three links that prove this perception. LSU is in a relatively small market. Don't expect the attention some major market team garners. Also, don't focus on every negative word someone says.

Win the titles, and there won't be any ridicule.

This is my perception. You read an article that is critical of LSU. You think that everyone is critical.
Nope. There is no ridicule. Certainly there is justifiable criticism.

I pointed out why LSU is being mocked.

You get your feelings hurt too easily. In the Internet age, you did not expect any negative commentary I suppose.

Here's a theory..and I just thought of it. So, I've not researched it.

I suggest that players will play 2 or 3 "good" seasons. IF a team has a year in which a LOT of Freshmen start...then those freshmen get a chance to gain experience and get noticed. then, they leave.

Now, UNTIL a team experiences the anomalous year of starting a lot of freshmen, those teams do not have their guys get that playing time.

Team A plays 17 freshmen extensively...2 years later, team A begins losing players early...thus needing to play young players more, again.

Team B only plays 7 Freshmen extensively....2 years later, those guys haven't had their chance to shine just yet.

I have no idea if it has any merit. But, scientific method starts with a theory

Let me help you out. As far as wins go, you've watched the most successful 4 year stretch in the history of LSU football. Needless to say a lot of that has to do with talented players. Talented players go to the NFL.

Are you going to admit you were wrong about your "1 BCS game in 6 years" remark?

at anyone trying to spin this in any kind of negative direction I would show that to some of the biggest and baddest recruits in the nation just to show em how full of shite the media is. And ask them what school do you want to attend? One that assures you millions of dollars in an average of 3 years but it is your choice kid and get a top notch degree or go to a school that may get you to the NFL and a 2nd tier degree? Oh plus The greatest fan base, atmosphere and coaches in the NCAA? Well son?? Now when you leave here I have to call the next best guy because its my job but I can't assure you he won't commit? Now I still have spots but pls talk this over with your family, pray and let me know how you feel after. This is LSU son and we need you and want you to be part of our great family here now lets make history!

For those that think the players leaving early is a terrible thing, for all of the ones that have left early the last few years, who do you think should have stayed?

Players having 2 or 3 good years...

I could live with that. There are LSU players in the last two years that met that criteria and left early, great for them. I hope they have long pro careers, I'm pulling for them. But there are also LSU players that did not meet that criteria but left early anyway.

Pursuing their dreams. I wish them well.

I'll cheer like hell for the ones that wear the P&G and eventually THEY will leave. I'll wish them well...and CHEER LIKE HELL for the next group in P&G

rinse, repeat

I've had 13 AWESOME years of LSU football since 2000. I am THRILLED with those years and excited for the next one

Did they, or did they not have remaining eligibility to play football? If the answer is yes, they left early. LSU is not the only college football team to have redshirted a player.

Asswipe, what is the difference between a four year junior and a four year senior, one freaking play. Six of the nine we lost to the draft last year were four year players. We had three legit leave early. One of the six that left this year was a four year player. We had five legit leave early this year. That is eight for an average of four. These guys stayed as long as an average college kid, so let them go and stop being a whiny bitch.

So since you seem to think this is some sort of bad reflection on the program, what do you think the reason is that these "unprepared" players leave early for the NFL? Because they don't like the coach? Is that where you are going with this?
