This is who I'd go after if I were them. They are going to have to go with an assistant coach. So I'd put my money on Morris.

I think Kirby Smart would be a good hire.
Vandy would be a good situation for KS.

Disagree. Their next coach is almost in a no win situation.

Bobby's eye won't stop wondering. It's engrained in him.

Couldn't Vandy get a top coach from the Mac/Sunbelt pool?

How so? James Franklin only beat 4 teams with a record above .500 in his 3 years and he is considered their GOAT.

Rumor around town is that Franklin is looking for HUGE stadium improvements and may be leveraging the Penn state offer to secure commitments from Chancellor/Administration. Considering that there has been a spending freeze for the school for a couple years now, this could be a pretty pivotal moment.

The thing about Morris though is that he gives off the impression as being too good for a HC job like Vandy. He was being considered for the NC State job last year, and he pretty much blew off the interview from what I heard. I think Morris was hoping for the Baylor job to open up or something, as he's a Texas native.

While I doubt he's going to leave Clemson for the Vandy job, I'd like to see it happen. USC has owned Morris since he's been at Clemson, but I'd like to help make that Clemson recruiting platform a bit more unstable.

That's why. They have taken advantage of a pretty weak East division the past two years. The should probably sweep their OOC game next year (Temple, Charleston Southern, Old Dominion, and Umass), but could easily go 1-7 in the SEC.

I can't decide if I like this or not. The first 2 years and last half of this year, he was oustanding. The beginning of this year, the defense was WAY too conservative. I certainly wouldn't hate it, but he's not my first choice in replacements right now. Damn it Franklin, just stay and end the offseason panic.

The name of Jim Tressell has surfaced in Nashville. The Vandy AD is a former member of athletic committee at Ohio State.

Interesting.

That would be an interesting move. He wouldn't stay there long, though.

David Cutcliffe should be on the short list.

Cutliffe won't go anywhere. I want Mason out of Stanford.
