Yes. Regular smokers develop tolerance.

The guy that blows through 2 zones of the good stuff in a month is not average smoker. That almost 2 grams of high grade a day. Did that in college but I was not average then either.

That sounds about average.

I'm all about that dab life now too. That runs for $40 a gram but that's for special occasions.

Would you mind elaborating on this "tolerance" issue?

So $300 for two months, which is about $35 per week (300/2 = 150 per month, 150/4.33 weeks in a month gets 34.64. Round up to 35). That's about $7 per day, which is a couple lattes at Starbucks or a good beer at a bar per day.

In those terms it's not that pricey.

Just what it sound like. The more you smoke or start smoking something much stronger(dabs), the more you tolerate it, and the more it takes. You have to take breaks once in a while.

Y'all smoke an ounce in two months that's like half a gram a day. Not even a straight blunt.

The prices will come down as the buying and selling stabilizes. They won't fall drastically. Maybe 300 per oz, or there about
The price will drop to significantly lower than $300 per ounce once competition among growers increases. The cost of setting up the desired controlled growing environment will decrease significantly since the operators will not have to take measures to avoid law enforcement. The growing operations will expand to take advantage of economies of scale. The price for marijuana will decrease to somewhere close to the cost of production plus a reasonable profit for the growers. And the cost of production for growing a single unfertilized female marijuana plant to maturity, yielding approximately one pound of buds, is nowhere near the $4,800 proceeds at $300 per ounce.

I didn't think one plant would produce a pound maybe 8 ozs, but I have never heard of a pound. Is that normal?

is that how price elasticity of demand works?

Same. I don't want to ruin dabs by building up tolerance. They are amazing if yours is weak.

I don't see a single difference between this and alcohol prohibition. The price WILL drop.

Okay, thanks. That's what I thought it might mean but I didn't know if there was a special meaning for it among users.

Is this issue of tolerance one of the reasons many people refer to marijuana as a 'gateway' drug? After a while, a user might move up to a harder (stronger) illegal substance in order to get his 'high'?

I'm not saying every mj user eventually does that or even that a majority will do it. In fact, most don't. But it does happen for a statistically significant number of users, right?

Weed is not really like that. You're not sitting around, shivering, waiting for your next 'fix' like a junkie. I don't buy the gateway drug theory. Most crackheads have also drank, smoked cigs, and probably huffed shite. The type of person who becomes a crackhead had some underlying issues already. Relatively few pot smokers move on to hard drugs.
