Could it be possible that Lane Kiffin takes over as OC at Alabama?

If Nussmeier takes a head coaching job somewhere, I can't help but think that since Kiffin was brought in to help "evaluate" the Alabama offense this weekend, he'd be the frontrunner.

You'd have to ask Kirby Smart that question.

It's unfortunate this didn't happen last weekend. This board would've been insane had Kiffin visited Tuscaloosa when Saban was supposedly on his way to Texas

in 5 years the Bama faithful will give Saban the Mack Brown treatment.

not sure why people are laughing at this

Lane was a ridiculously good OC at USC before he went to the Raiders. Also was recruiting coordinator for their 3 straight #1 classes

Saban as HC with Kiffin as OC would be quite scary if the two could work together

I wouldn't mind if he took over playcalling duties. Nussmeier's playcalling drives me nuts. Bama could be averaging 10 yards per carry and completing less than 50% of their passes and Nussmeier will still refuse to run the ball more than 2x in a row.

Wouldn't surprise me, he is actually working on something with Saban now!

Bob Stoops visited last year. Smart visited the Saints two years ago. It's called quality control. It doesn't mean someone is getting hired.

Kiffin is asking Saban to hook him up with some references for the Texas gig.

Very risky for Bama.

Would be a home run for Kiffin to rebuild his image. He would have zero media access, elite players, an elite stage, and the opportunity to be mentored by a living legend. The absolute best case for Kiffin would be an opportunity to showcase his talent as a playcaller and recruiter, while also humbling himself before a control freak like Saban. It's quite possibly the only way he will ever get another shot at HC of a major program.
