It's not a shocker really, he was a walk on and Davis Webb was the scholarship freshman who played just as good. Good luck to the kid though

He'd got outplayed by another freshman once they got to Big 12 play. He may not have even been the #2 QB next season.

I'd bet at least half of the players on scholarship didn't contribute as much as he did.
