We had quite a few polls and draft related dialogue as to who the #15 pick should be. Jarvis Jones was the consensus favorite that was passed by. We've been checking on him through the year and KV has definitely been the higher impact player thus far.

There were several other players who were available and wanted more by some STers. Here's a check on those-

Shariff Floyd DT vikes- have only seen him referred to as a rotational player in the Minny press. Stats reflect that: 1 start, 7 tackles, 2.5 sacks

Alec Ogletree- you'll see him this week for the Rams. He has prolly been the most productive of the others. Every down LB with 80tackles, 15 assts, 4 forced fumbles, 7 pass defenses, 1 sack, and 1 INT that broke the record for longest a LB- 98yd TD

Xavier Rhodes CB vikes- has played well but more often injured. Oct 14 sprained ankle, Nov 5 knee & shoulder injury, Nov 25 concussion, ankle sprain again last weekend

Bjoern Werner Colts- started his first game a few weeks back but was back on the bench afterwards. Rotoworld sez his snaps have been limited from ineffective play and dealing with a torn plantar fascia. A half sack, 10tackles, 2 assts

Kevin Minter AZ- 10 games, no starts, 2 tackles

Tank Carradine- never active though there was little expectation for this year. IRed today

Maybe the front office knows what they're doing more than people on a message board after all.

I'm not knocking KV, but Reid was another possible pick.

He's played well besides the concussions.

I wanted more than anything to trade back and take either Xavier Rhodes, Nuk Hopkins, or Keenan Allen.

KV has surprised the hell out of me, but I think we would have been pretty happy with either of those moves as well.

More than anything I wanted Star or Richardson which would have been incredible with the DL we currently have, but obviously they were already off the board.

yeah that was me who kept hitting the drum for Ogletree.

Hawthorne has played really well I think.

My thing was more about Vilma and some depth issues we had that position. I guess it was more paranoia then anything. We had rotten luck with injuries in 2012 at LB.

Not even gonna lie, going into the draft I thought he was going to be a superstar. Before we announced we were switching to the 3-4 I wanted him so bad. I still did a little bit after, but not as much.

Not pooping on your thread at all, but I quit getting worked up about draft picks a long time ago. I realized that I'm wrong most of the time. I thought sed Ellis and Malcolm Jenkins would be perennial pro bowlers. I was so mad when we picked meachem over Greg Olson. Teams aren't built in the 1st round. KV was a great pick.

I have to say, Ogletree was really flying around for the Rams today.

I thought Hawthorne played pretty well today.

Lofton did OK today... but I can honestly say that he has underwhelmed this year.

just my opinion.

we need more speed at the position I think.
