Troy
UAB
USA
Samford

In that order. Bama State, UNA, AAMU and Tuskegee are all about the same level.

South Alabama just started football a few years ago, and they play their games in downtown Mobile for now, about 45 minutes from DI

South had a chance to take UT to overtime this year, and they're getting return trips from Navy and Mississippi State among others in the near future

as did we, it's much better than the tourist traps, and is peaceful and not crowded.i loved the fact that mobile had a dog track and off track betting.

People were also super nice.

Troy needs to improve their city, but the campus is kinda nice. The stadium announcer for Troy football is the worst thing I've ever heard at a sporting event.

UAB football facilities are a disaster. Everyone in that program should be embarrassed by that shite. High schools have better facilities.

USA has potential but they have a long long way to go.

ASUs entire administration is plaqued with scandal.

Almost by default, Troy is #3 in the state. But it's up for grabs if another program can have a little success or get some exciting players.

The city of Troy almost has this mindset of keeping the university down. Many locals hate the school but they don't realize how much it brings to the area. They are stuck in a small town mindset. You'll see them by the thousands wearing Bama or Auburn gear at our games though.

And most of Trojan nation would agree with you about our announcer. In com plete is just awful. Our radio guy is great though.

I personally consider Troy third behind Bama and Auburn.

man, we were really competitive in just about every game this year even when we lost.

actually, the only time we just had our arse handed to us was the loss to Navy.

the Mobile/Baldwin County area is loaded with recruiting prospects. But South has done a decent job of recruiting out of state talent also.

sometimes I think the attendance at games is disappointing. I mean in one of the biggest wins of the season last Saturday, there was only about 20,000 people there at Ladd. That is totally a guess by the way but it was cold plus Auburn was playing in the SEC Championship Game.

and a good portion of the students are Alabama/Auburn fans and don't really care much about South's teams.

I think it fricking sucks but what are you going to do?

I've heard some people complain about Ladd because of the neighborhood but I think they are just being a bunch of babies. Nothing bad seems to happen plus there are cops everywhere. The tailgating this year kicked arse.

A ton of people I went to high school with are at South now. And I don't know of any who go to games. Whenever I ask some of them about, they say they'll go once there's an on-campus stadium, though big Alabama games will always take precedence.

you could probably add up all of the non Auburn or non Alabama college football sports talk for a whole year and easily fit it into one 30 minute broadcast.

Ha, it's been a while as she is not much of a baby anymore. My little girl is 4 now and growing like a weed. They grow up fast! Whenever you get to that stage of your life make sure you enjoy it.

yes. I lives in Huntsville for years and my answer would be UNA and Jax St.

When I went there, the football program didn't even exist. I've always gone to basketball games even back during the days when they played at the Civic Center when I was a kid.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the loyalty to Alabama/Auburn that people feel obligated to stick with. I just like taking that Neal McCready unpopular stance and calling people out sometimes.

And it used to seem like people would say, "Wouldn't it be cool if South had a football team?" Well, now we have one and it still really hasn't taken off yet. The team isn't that bad, I promise you.

you mentioned hosting Navy and Mississippi State. I feel like if people don't show up when State comes to town, that could be a real bad sign. You'd have to think an SEC team would attract a bigger crowd, plus I'm sure State would bring a couple thousand fans.

Probably the HBCUs (Alabama State and Alabama A&M). They have a pretty good following state-wide
