Dont know about that. Chicago was a toss up, just like this one. Could be and would love to be 3-0, but this team cant take anyone for granted.

Maybe, maybe not. Seeing less control freaks these days. Im not sure Pop would have called a TO.

I dont think its that straightforward. He called great plays v Chicago. I think a lot of coaches now prefer to let it ride on live ball situations.

Calling a TO would have been fine, but I dont think not calling one changed the game

Not a Monty fan, but we lost this one because Reke and Morrow went a combined 1 of 14.

They played the Mavs to the buzzer without Anthony Davis and Monty is terrible? I'm not opposed to entertaining replacements but there's no way they're going to fire Monty if he keeps this time .400+

I will say it was finally good to see lots of easy baskets and numerous decent set plays. If we are halfway decent from 3 we win. Either way, I'm not down because of this game. We outrebounded by 20 without AD. Lots of hustle out there. The Aminu jumper at the end was baffling. Jrue should have taken control at the end. Not sure why he gave it up to EG but I'm glad EG tried to make something of it. Either way, I think these guys are getting better and understanding their roles better and better with each game. It takes time with a completely new team and being so young.

Also, I wish AR would get more time but I think the main reason is because he has similar abiilities to many current players of dribble driving and Roberts is a slightly better outside shooter, right? Whatever, screw the Roberts plan. GIVE RIVERS PLAYING TIME.

I'm tired of losing all of these close games.

We've had 6 games won or lost by 5 points or less. We are 3 and 3 in those close games. The 3 losses were to better teams, Indiana, Golden State and The Mavs without Davis.

I'm not going to tell anyone they should love Monty, but you should at least be reasonable in your criticism of him.

They are still trying to figure out who they are and who the go to guys are. It also didn't help that they didn't have Davis to help get stops at the end.

So we're doing this thread everytime we lose, now?

The improvements in Jrue and Reke should be telling of this even though Reke was off last night. I have faith still in this team but it really sucks that this team has to go through this phase without the key piece.

It's a game the Pels could have and probably should have won. But like I said elsewhere, it's the NBA and we were without AD. Tough losses are going to happen. What matters this season is how this team progresses and how it's set up for the future.

I'm no Monty supporter right now, but he's been doing fine. We can't blame every loss on him. I am actually slowly starting to regain my confidence in him.

I don't understand why anyone thinks that Monty has the team headed in the right direction at all. His first season was his best season. Before the Dallas loss, we were 2 games above .500 for the first time since we started the 2011 season 2-0. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. He was supposed to be a defense coach, but our defense ranks in the bottom 1/3.

The money has been spent to bring in the talent to compete. Now it's just time to spend a little more to bring in the coaching talent. I didn't spend money on season tickets for another mediocre season.

Time for Monty to go.

Calm down, you guys are being SEC-RANTarded right now. This board has never been this bad. Just relax and enjoy watching the team grow. Players weren't hitting shots last night. The level of play and coaching was fine.
Just give it some time for everyone to work through the issues and for AD to come back. Seriously just relax and enjoy the basketball that we have in this city.

Because right now the only thing that matters is AD's development. Playoffs this year would be nice, but aren't essential to the long term. What these next 2 years are all about is finding the right pieces to fit next to Davis. Monty is one of those pieces that's being evaluated, and even if he's not the guy, which I don't think he's shown, that doesn't mean we should go apoplectic after every loss acting like not only was Monty the sole reason we lost the game, but if we don't get rid of him immediately we'll be stuck with him forever. Save the torches and pitchforks for the offseason when #HireKarl will actually be an option.

Monty's not the answer. We don't have the patience for another 2 years of developing this team under him. That being said, these fire Monty threads after each loss does get a lil old, even for me.

What's up with the handling of Austin Rivers?

Is Brian Roberts better than him? Ok, that's fine I don't have a problem with that.

This guy was a lottery pick for us, though. Either (A) send him to the DLeague where he can actually get minutes. Or (B) start looking for trade options. Maybe another underachieving pick from the 2012 draft.

DNPs and 9 mpg when he does play does not do anyone any good. If you have to have another guard on the roster, call up Pierre Jackson and do something else with Rivers.

We need a new coach at this point.

The problem is who?

How long is Davis out?

The West is full of good teams and those teams protect home court. We have been very average at home which is going to hurt us down the stretch if we don't buck up. We should be 3-5 games above .500 right now. Davis is the key to us competing and winning games like we need such as last night.

I want to see Ryno and Davis playing together more when he comes back. The spacing and our athleticism is going to be problematic if we go with a smaller line up.

Monty is by far not an elite coach. But right now it is unfair to judge this season as of now. We keep saying that Davis went down and is injured, but we forget that we had to play plenty of games without Anderson. We are having to play with small lineups, yet we are still improving and competing. Let's see how the season ends before making these calls. But Karl would be an ideal fit if needed!
