Right now, opening night H&H cocahoes are getting it done in GI. We killed em last week and headed back in the morning.
Good advice concerning Opening Night. I fish Leeville year round and Opening Night with a chartreuse tail is our go to bait when fishing plastics. H&H cocahoe in black with a chartreuse tail works well depending on water clarity etc. Advice about fishing drop offs, and varied retrieve are also good advice.
For plastics under a cork, try VuDu and DOA. Live coaches under a cork will usually get the action started.

try to find current moving out of or into cuts and like others have said fish the drop off, its really a lot like bass fishing this time of year with the fish piled up where the fast water hits something

see if you can find some deep holes in bayous too. fish should be stacked in the holes and once you find them you will be in good shape

Thanks again... Heading to Leeville next weekend ( weather permitting) and I'll be sure to give a report on how it goes

I could give you some spots, but you'd have to be in a kayak. shouldn't have problem finding them though

My dad's buddy has a camp down there so we know a few spots. Planning on getting a kayak soon though

We have a camp right across from Lake Boudreaux. I'm either going to hit reds on the northeast bank or drift for trout.
