The bowl tie in by conference ranking doesn't matter anymore. They can take whoever they want when it's their turn.

LSU vs Neb and Pellini in the Outback bowl. Nice Tampa weather in Jan. Best Guess?

I'm telling everyone now, if Missouri goes to the SEC championship and loses it will go to the Cotton. Auburn will get Capitol One.
So you're telling everyone now that in your scenario the SEC gets only one team in the BCS?

The biggest thing standing in the way of LSU to the Cotton Bowl....

Auburn will likely be in the Sugar. USC won't be in the Cotton, they almost always like to take a team from the West while the Outback generally goes with a team from the East. Mizzou could be an option for the Cotton though given their recent Big 12 ties.

It would be great to see LSU head back to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. Dallas is just awful. I wish the SEC would break ties with the Cotton Bowl, unless aTm, Arkansas and either of the Mississippi teams are the only options for them.

Say mizz loses next week and auburn
Sugar takes auburn, capital one takes mizz
Cotton takes us or south carolina the other goes to chick fil a bowl or outback
Mizz wins auburn loses, mizz to sugar, south carolina or auburn to captial one. Capital generally likes the east but would be hard to pass up on Auburn this season and that would interesting pick.

This is spot on IMHO.

Losing to Ole Miss really screwed up the Bowl situation for LSU.

Personally, I would prefer the Gator Bowl to the Chicken Bowl. I'm just tired of making that trip.

Lsurussian credibility destroyed.

Moron. Lsu would get better bowl based on record. No way a 4 loss georgia team gets better bowl than a 9-3 lsu

Was reading the paper this morning and this question was brought up, who goes to a better bowl game vandy or UGA?

Vandy & UGA will likely both finish at 8-4, UGA has the better SEC record but Vandy won the head to head matchup & will have finished on 4 game winning.

Your dumbass theory goes out the window when LSU beat both South Carolina and TAMU, but still ended up in the damn chicken bowl last year. We all had the same exact record plus we beat both head to head. Would you stop being a dumbass please?

I'm gonna enter my prediction that the only way LSU is not in the Cotton Bowl, assuming a victory against Arkansas, is if South Carolina wins the SEC Championship.

If all your "facts" about seeds were correct, then there would be no need for bowl selection committees. There would just be a chart and after the SECCG the bowls would be assigned. Since that obviously doesn't happen, and teams with better records get "lower" bowls than teams with worse records every year, I think your concept is pretty off base.

The way you wrote it as almost set in stone made me laugh when just last year, two teams behind us in the SEC got bowls ahead of us.

Replace the word 'seeds' in my OP with 'choices' and the gist of the OP remains the same. Of course bowls have some discretion who they take.

But believing the Cotton Bowl would use its #3 or #4 choice to take the #6 finisher in the SEC is an example of P&G glasses being worn, IMO, especially considering LSU just played in Dallas in the same stadium three months ago.
