OSU would beat Stanford by 10. Well, you'll see in the Rose Bowl.

I'm not sure Ohio State's defense would be able to consistently stop either team's offense. But their own offense has a nice deep threat in Devin Smith, a trio of experienced underneath receivers, two good tight ends, an extremely experienced offensive line, a 5-man RB platoon four of whom are high-4 or 5 star kids, and one of the country's most dynamic quarterbacks (plus an experienced, proven back up). At times Braxton looks lost and/or disinterested, but when he's on the Ohio State offense is every bit as dangerous as Bama or FSU. They'd certainly have a fighter's chance.
It'd be fitting if the SEC's national championship streak, which began with an overconfident Ohio State team getting pummeled by a hungry Urban-led Florida team, ended with an overconfident Bama team losing to a hungry Urban-led Ohio State team. Don't think Saban would ever let his guys get complacent, however.
Anyhow, it's strange that everyone thinks an FSU squad led by Jimbo Fisher, which hasn't accomplished anything of note for 15 years, is some super-lock guarantee over Ohio State and Urban Meyer. Ohio State is 6-3 in BCS bowl games and Urban personally is 4-0. People are citing Saban vs Meyer as one reason why Ohio State can't beat Bama. Why does unproven Jimbo Fisher not receive the same treatment if squared off against one of CFB's most accomplished, dominant coaches (whose bowl-season record is close to immaculate).

Too many facts and rational thought.

Still lots of football left to be played. One thing i do agree with is when debating Ohio ST/Florida St schedules, at the end of the year Ohio St may have played the tougher schedule...at least equal to that of Florida St. This whole idea that Ohio St is overrated is just hilarious. Ohio St's offense could move the ball on both Florida St and Alabama. IF Ohio St can continue to develop these young defensive players....look out! Again lots of football left to be played!

They would get their asses whooped by both.

This gets OSU in how?
The voters will have a choice between FSU or OSU at #2 (if they both win out).
He convinced enough voters in 2006 that UF was the better choice over Michigan to play in the championship game.
I'm telling you, he'll lobby the voters. ESPECIALLY if OSU ends up with the tougher schedule.

He should think and say that. It really will be a shame if they go undefeated for 2 seasons in a row and don't even get a shot at a title.

I wouldn't have a problem with them getting left out.

I can't really say I would be upset at the reasoning if we get left out...it would still suck knowing we did go 25-0.

I don't think they should get in over Bama or FSU but it would still suck for them, that is all I am saying.

quote:No it won't be. OSU lost privileges to play big games years ago and hasn't earned them back playing their mid-major schedule. This is exactly what they deserve. I'm sick of being "undefeated" regardless of conference being a huge metric for how good a team is. A one loss SEC/Pac 12 team is much more deserving than an undefeated big 10 team.
