Should I kill coons on my property?

I have a few coos running around and I am not a hunter,so I will ask here if I should shoot them when I can? Is there a real reason to kill them or should I let them roam?

I would let them roam. not sure how much damage they can do. similar to a cat.

I would only shoot if they are getting in the barn or doing some property damage.
Possums and armadillos kill on sight.

On our property we try to keep them in check due to their love of turkey eggs. Other than that I see no harms in letting them roam.

"Raccoons trying to get in the house Momma would just chase them off the porch with a broom."

Perfectly legal to shoot them in Texas if they're stealing your stuff. Really ought to or else they'll just keep stealing more and more, and bring their friends over to steal as well.

This. And DO NOT start feeding them or they will take over your property. If you have outside pets, the coons will take their outside food. Once the coons take over your property, they'll even come into your garage looking for food.

Raccoons do eat the hell out of turkey eggs. As an avid turkey hunter, I'm considering doing a little "pest control" on our property. I've seen 6-8 coons in two different places at a time. Those little turds eat corn like it's no tomorrow, too.

If you let them roam they will multiply, that's a given. Being that its not the year 1860 I do not suggest shooting them. They are sort of a protected species under our current administration. I suggest putting signs( in coon language) around your property stating no food or shelter here if you don't work. They will be gone soon enough.

They will empty a corn feeder once they learn how to spin it

Kill em all! They eat the turkey eggs and my corn!
