Stanford Keys to Throwing off Oregon Offense

In looking at Stamford''s keys to screwing up Oregon's O:
1. Pressure by front 4
2. Early defense setting
3. And most important, mid LB accurate timing of snap count, and it appeared as-though he and NG had scheme worked out and NG was used like a lead blocker is used by offense. NG was creating space for LB to enter like directional blocking.

Not earth shattering stuff. A good front four will beat them every time. See AU '10 and LSU '11. Oregon just doesn't do physical.

"See OSU 09' - or is that something you can't see?"

It's an SEC message board you tard. No one here remembers that OSU played Oregon in 2009. The other two were a national championship and an LSU game.

They had some incredibly timed blitzes.

Agree with front four, but with that said, LSU and Auburn did not totally handicap that O like Stanford, I believe pressure in middle created by having big NG driving center in one direction and allowing more athletic LB into open space of backfield was even more impactful on rhythm.

Their offense...Oregon's defense decided to stay in their 3-4 defense and get blown off the line when they put in 8 OLINEMEN. We never got any rhythm and when they did, it was too late.
I also think Oregon is being too stubborn with their S&C philosophy with the trench guys.

Oregon is 100% committed to their scheme. And that is their problem. They excel at it but if it doesnt work they stick with it and the end up fricking themselves

This was the key to the game last night:

1. Stop the inside run
2. Make the QB beat you with his arm
3. Control the ball and the clock
4. Limit the offense ability to get into a rhythm

Too much of that "zen" philosophy and atmosphere. Just look at the new FB facility? No color gets no brain stimulation. FB doesn't need calm...needs raw, dig down deep philosophy. S&C is one element.
