So I was just at the gun store and fiddled with a few handguns. I have a few couple shotguns to kill various animals including humans. I also have a couple J frames. I just wanted a semi handgun because I've never had one.

After holding a 1911 and a glock I don't see how anyone deals with the brick that is a 1911.

So I got a SW MP 40.

Questions? Comments?

I got one. The board says it's a terrible gun. But it ain't bad.

The weight? Cuz these are slim.

My first shots with a 40 were a pleasant surprise. Would love to shoot again.

I'd prefer the Glock 22, but the SW40 is a smooth shooting gun.

My sister shoots a SW .40 and loves it.

Seriously though, nothing wrong with a .40. Any gun will do if you will do.

I don't even know what this means. Do you mean call the Glock a brick? Because that would make sense, otherwise you might be the first person I have ever heard of that thinks a 1911 is less ergonomic than a Glock...

Love mine! If it feels good in your hand that's all that matters.

My dad and 2 uncles have one as just another caliber gun.

They all got them on Christmas sales for < $300... I wouldn't pay $500 for it for sure.

People shite on the sigma series but they worked out the kinds and it's virtually a different gun now.

Below I a picture of a decent grouping my dad shot for his CC class.

So many better guns available but for the price ($300, not $500) it's an okay truck gun.

But at @ $500 I'd just pony up and extra bill and a half for a ruger 1911
