That's a bold proposition. Y'all think this is possible or BS? Would you buy at $45 a pop?

I don't have a 1911 but most everybody I know that has a 1911 swears by the WC mags. If WC puts as much into their mags as they do their guns, they are probably worth every bit of $45.

The standard WC mags will pretty much last a lifetime for the average shooter and cost less than half that much.

I don't have a lot of use for Bill Wilson's past influence on some of the shooting sports -- but Wilson Combat makes good 1911's, and they make excellent mags for 1911's.
I think I'd believe the claim.
Now, whether the mags are worth the price is a different question. Mag springs are pretty cheap and are easy to replace.
